In Western North Carolina, there is limited access to dermatology care given the high demand and need in the region. Each time a patient misses an appointment without providing proper notice, another patient is prevented from receiving care which further limits access to healthcare.
In effort to improve access to a dermatologist, a No-Show Policy has been implemented. Patients who wish to cancel their appointment are required to notify the clinic at least 24 hours BEFORE their scheduled appointment time. Patients who do not show up for their appointment or do not provide notification to cancel at least 24 hours before the appointment time will be charged a $50.00 NO-SHOW fee (“no shows”). This charge will be placed onto their credit card on file that is collected at the first appointment. This fee is NOT covered by insurance and must be paid in full by the patient prior to his or her next appointment.
Highlands Dermatology, P.A. takes the time necessary to treat all patients with the utmost courtesy and respect and makes it a priority to tend to their needs. As such, we do not overbook the schedule as many physicians do as we feel that it risks compromising the practice’s priority, which is you.
