CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)
As you are aware, this is a challenging time we are facing as a community and a nation, and your safety and the safety of our staff are of the utmost importance to us.
Please note the following steps we have put into place effective immediately:
1). We are assessing each patient as they check in to determine if they or a family member have had fever, cough, shortness of breath, or have traveled to a high-risk area within the past two weeks. If so, we are asking the patient to reschedule their appointment.
2). Our staff members are wearing protective masks to reduce exposure to bacteria or viruses. We are also professionally sanitizing our offices to further protect patients and staff.
3). If you have an upcoming visit and don't have an urgent medical need, then we encourage you to reschedule. Please call our office and our staff will assist you. We are reviewing our upcoming schedules to identify those who have a suppressed immune system or are in a high-risk category. We will reach out via phone call to offer to reschedule appointments.
4). We are loosening the refill request policy to enable certain refills via phone.
5). We will continue to treat all skin cancer surgeries and urgent skin concerns as usual in the office.
6). We are now offering Telehealth. This will allow us to communicate with you at home for issues with rashes, acne, follow up visits, and spot checks. If you would like to schedule a virtual visit, please text our office at (888) 565-8828 or email us at [email protected]. Due to our slimmed down staff, please only call us as a last resort. If we are on another call, you will be prompted to leave a voice message.
We are committed to our care for you during this time and want to keep you safe and healthy.
Sincerely, Highlands Dermatology, P.A.
